Lethapa Tikiso, popularly known as “Damario” was born in 1980 in a small village of Mazenod in the outskirts of Maseru city. He prefers to sing afro pop music which he refers to as (Mokorotlo).Growing up he has always been experimental and innovative, he was a creator from a tender age where he started painting pictures of everything around and never knew that music was still one of his talents.
Damario's introduction to the music scene started way back in 1994 with a group of Dee Jays (DJ Phyzix, DJ Ts'idoski, DJ Kennisto, DJ Thabbi e.t.c) he always went out with to the parties and shows in town. He started writing songs which he sang at the shows and people loved what he sang and so a need to form a group came up. An idea was born of teaming up with a home boy called Molibeli Mokake and the group “Lefate” was born later in 1996.
Damario is a producer on his own and he has worked with some local musicians and producers who look up to him and respect him. The gentleman has produced albums and tracks for: Lefate, virus, spido, Lakzen, Mthibo, Febric, Rumo la Koebe, zone 3, black magic, Damario and others.
Damario has just recorded and completed a solo album called “Manong-Pain & Chainz” which he calls a voice of the unfortunate people because of a message it contains, from Hip hop, R&B, House, Kwaito, Gospel and Afro pop sounds. He worked with Khotso Thahane in the mixing and mastering parts.
Apart from being an artist, Damario is the Head of Artists at BAM Promotions, in charge of selecting upcoming artists and grooming them for performances and exposure. He also creates relationships for BAM Promotions with existing artists both locally and internationally.
