NAME: TEBELLO PHATELA

Hailing from Tebellong in the Lesotho district of Qacha's nek, Tebello acquired his formal education from Tebellong Primary School, Hareeng High School, and Tebellong Secondary. He was quite the maestro as he conducted school choir in Primary level, and when in Secondary school, was chosen as the leader of the Society called Students Correction Movement.
If Tebello Phatela were to go into the world of boxing, he would be in the middle-weight division. This middle-weight packs a singing voice that is surprisingly heavier than his stature. His musical talent comes from a family of music lovers where singing in the church choir was a baton passed down the generations. He is also trained in staff notation.
When Tebello moved to Maseru in 2003, he joined Full Gospel Church and also started learning to play the piano. Later that year, he joined the group called Messengers of Christ, which successfully recorded an album called “Nako Lia Khutsufala”.
Listening to Tebello's album, one cannot help but notice his Lesotho Evangelical Church roots in tracks like “Letsatsi La Hau Morena”, which reflect the ease with which he executes notes.
Tebello is a born-again Christian under the leadership of a local pastor, where he even plays the keyboards. Tebello truly sings what he lives.
